One of the countries largest pizza chains is shutting down hundreds of its dine-in restaurants.
With an estimated 500 locations on the verge of shutting down, Pizza Hut has revealed their plan to shift its focus in another direction. The decision to close these locations comes as the company looks more toward delivery and carryout for its U.S. customer base. Gibbs said shifting the focus will ultimately strengthen long term growth prospects for the brand which was founded in 1958.
“Pizza Hut continues to develop tailored action plans for our largest dine-in markets, while at the same time transforming the estate for a more compelling off-premise focused asset strategy,” Greg Creed, CEO of Yum! Brands, said during a company earnings call.
