Earlier this year, Charlotte Russe liquidated their brick-and-mortar stores due to bankruptcy, but now they seem to be opening up again!
The San Diego-based retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in early February and outlined plans to close 94 stores. And after not finding a buyer, they announced that they would liquidate those stores. Now, YM Inc. purchased the Charlotte Russe brand out of Chapter 11 to ultimately open 100 locations in the near future.
In part, the new Charlotte Russe owner already operates more than 560 stores across the continent under multiple brands, including Urban Planet, Stitches and Suzy. Charlotte Russe should be able to get back on its feet by improving its merchandise selection and integrating its stores with its e-Commerce experiences.
