The ArtCenter College of Design is getting ready to move into the Downtown Los Angeles region!
The ArtCenter is set to lease around 11,500-square-foot building at 114 West Fourth Street for only $1 a year for the next $10 years! The ArtCenter wanted to increase engagement with the city rather than being miles away in Pasadena.
This space will hold a mix of exhibitions and classes for ArtCenter’s undergraduate and graduate programs. Additionally, the place on being a resource to the L.A. art community by presenting exhibitions and programs. The ArtCenter will also offer lectures centered around diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The new ArtCenter would be close to the monthly Art Walk and this new location helps their students to “express themselves in a much broader way,” states Provost Karen Hofmann. And Downtown L.A. is thrilled to welcome this new demographic into the city!
