Construction has begun on the world’s first 3-D printed neighborhood!
A plan has been revealed to help build affordable housing for those in need. The latest cutting-edge technology has helped move the initiative forward through creating the world’s first 3D-printed community!
This project is set to rise in Latin America as the neighborhood would be available for families living on less than $200 USD a month.
The printer that they will be using to build this neighborhood will be portable and produces close to zero waste and remains functional in testing scenarios where they may be a lack of power, water, or typical labor infrastructure.
Currently, the use of 3D printing in the construction industry has been helping many become owners of office spaces or homes. In one instance, a 3D printer created some walls for a model home and people came in to implement windows, roofing. It took a total of 48 hours to complete the project and it cost approximately $10,000 USD.
Printing for these low-cost homes should begin in the next few months, so we will wait and see for the reaction of the community!
