Nike is on the path to being known as a technology company instead of a retailer as they amp up their new technological features!
Most recently, they released a feature on their mobile app that uses computer vision and the user’s smartphone camera to scan a customer’s feet and come up with a foot morphology. This model is then applied to the company’s various shoe designs, providing customers with the recommended show size for them in each of the company’s footwear products!
If the Nike customer doesn’t have the app downloaded, then, they can ask a store associate for help as they have the technology enabled on their mobile devices that they carry around in stores.
“You can’t ‘just do it’ with shoes that don’t fit.”
Nike’s aim is to help combat any situation in which someone says, “‘I love Nikes, they’re so cool, but they just don’t fit me. The whole brand — you just don’t fit me,’ and that is not a great situation for us to be in.”
