There are an endless amount of goods and services that can be delivered straight to your door with the push of a button, and now this grocery store chain is jumping into the line!
Grocery giant, Kroger, has partnered with robotics firm Nuro to launch an autonomous delivery service in Houston, TX. Last week, Kroger made an announcement where they stated that the service would represent the first public use of Nuro’s self-driving vehicles in Houston!
Kroger will begin their initiative by using a fleet of manual and self-driving Toyota Prius cars, with the next generation of Nuro’s driverless vehicle later on in the year.
First launched in August of last year, Nuro started off with a fleet of autonomous Prius vehicles that were controlled by vehicle operators. Then, in December, Nuro released their first Nuro R1 which is an unmanned vehicle that operates on public roads.
Ferguson is excited to introduce Houston to their time-saving service that will provide customers with their groceries quickly and safely!
