L.A. Times recently named Nightshade, as the most interesting restaurants in Los Angeles. Want to know why?
Taking up residence in the burgeoning Arts District in downtown Los Angeles, Nightshade fits well into the fabric of the neighborhood’s eclectic and artistic ethos. Founded by Mei Lin, 2014 Eater Young Gun and Top Chef Season 12 winner, Lin has partnered with Cyrus Batchan and Francis Miranda to build out a modern, wood-lined dining room with hanging lamps, lush greenery, and matching banquettes.
The menu draws inspiration from a number of places, including Lin’s family’s Chinese restaurant in Detroit. One of her signature dishes is mapo tofu lasagna or beef tartare with dollops of egg yolk jam, sesame, and gochugaru for something resembling an elevated Korean yukhoe.
Nightshade is already one of the most captivating debuts of the year, so make your reservation to see what everyone is talking about!
