Set to open today, March 15, comes a new innovative customer experience! This 188,000-square-foot space is getting ready to move into New York for the very first time, bringing a physical and digital experience in a way that hasn’t been seen before.
Neiman Marcus is set to open their first-ever $25 billion flagship in the city of Manhattan’s West Side! Several upscale retailers such as Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Bloomingdale’s have all been working on improving their retail experience in an effort to attract the newer generation into their stores.
In an attempt to attract younger shoppers, Neiman Marcus last year began adding online personal stylists. This is more crucial than ever considering high-end, and often younger, consumers are more comfortable splurging luxury purchases online and are allocating a bigger portion of their budgets to experience-oriented and personalized things.
This new three-story flagship has two full service restaurants and bars, along with several other amenities making this Neiman Marcus a one stop shop! Inside, you can buy fresh flowers, visit an aesthetician for extended spa services, shoe and shine cobbler, custom hat shop, and use a digital jukebox-like audio service that allows customers to modify the music playlists they hear in store. There’s also a vintage fashion section and a Milan-based atelier that can do hand-painting, embroidery, laser printing, and any other customization!
The fitting rooms also feature interactive touchscreens that allow customers to both change the lighting and ask for different sizes. Geoffroy van Raemdonck, CEO of Neiman Marcus Group stated in an interview that,”our biggest ambition is to transform Neiman Marcus to be the luxury customer platform and be in the mind of customers as a destination.”
Neiman Marcus is currently ranked No.1 for in store-based luxury retailing in the U.S. with a 16% share of the market. So, this new venture is sure enough to keep Neiman Marcus with a “well-balanced” customer base!
