From first opening as a tiny shoe store in Seattle known as Wallin & Nordstrom, Nordstrom has grown into a leading fashion retailer as it offers exceptional selections of shoes, clothing, accessories, home goods, and gifts—and an extensive range of services to make the shopping experience fun, personalized and convenient. Now, their annual Anniversary Sale has become known as the Superbowl of Sales! Take a look at this sale that has many setting aside these dates to shop for products that won’t otherwise ever be on sale!
What sets the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale apart from other sales?
During the two week event, Nordstrom puts on a sale where shoppers can shop for brand new arrivals from their selection of brands and everyday essentials for women, men, and kids. The first-ever Anniversary Sale happened in the 1960s, but in recent years, the two-week sale has gained popularity due to the influencer community. The number of products available during the sale is extensive as the women’s section alone has over 3,600 items. Nordstrom partners up with several designers and sought-after brands to be able to bring these sales for their customers who would otherwise not ever be priced at a discount all year.
Nordstrom Credit Card Perks
If you shop regularly at Nordstrom, you may want to consider signing up for a Nordstrom credit card member. The Nordstrom sale first opens up to Nordstrom cardholders in a weeklong “Early Access” period which begins on July 12. As a member, you can receive more points for every purchase as well as exclusive benefits such as early access to the Nordstrom sale. Also, if you make a purchase with your new credit card on the day that it’s approved, you will get a $40 bonus. Moreover, the rest of the public isn’t allowed to shop the Anniversary sale until July 20.
The high demand is noticeable as the Nordstrom website crashed on the first day of the Early Access sale. The ever-growing popularity of the Anniversary sale is largely due to the fashion bloggers and influencers who have capitalized on it to promote their brand. Many bloggers use this sale as a way to convert the sale into a bigger picture as many work with affiliate networks like rewardStyle, where each consumer click for a blogger turns into a sale for the influencer. Once bloggers began to realize just how well the sale would convert for them, many became more proactive about promoting this sale towards their followers and readers, helping to grow the overall popularity. But, ultimately, we do not know how much Nordstrom sells as they never share their sales numbers at the end of their two-week event.
