Today is Amazon‘s biggest day of the year as they are hosting their annual Amazon Prime Day! But, it seems like Amazon wasn’t prepared for the massive amount of traffic that they would be receiving today. Thousands of people were quick to report what they were experiencing upon entering the website.
As soon as the clock struck 3 p.m. eastern time, hundreds of thousands of Amazon Prime members rushed to check out those amazing deals that Amazon has to offer for Prime Day, but thousands were quick to report that the website was experiencing some issues. Just about everyone was seeing a blank screen with a dog of Amazon along with a 404 error.
Moreover, the links that could be found on the main page with the advertisements for their Prime Day deals were going nowhere except to the main page. And, according to last year’s data from One Click Retail, Amazon is losing around $1 million per minute during their peak time of Prime Day as today’s website outage lasted nearly an hour. We will have to wait and see how much this outage affected the company and sales.
